About Srishti 2014

'Srishti 2014:- i2i Ideas To Implementation', an AICTE-IPS sponsored 'All Kerala Technical Project Exhibition and Competition' for Engineering Colleges was organized by SAINTGITS College of Engineering on 25th & 26th February, 2014. It was First of its kind in Kerala and was associated with AICTE-IPS, Kerala Financial Corporation, Startup Village, Naval Physics and Oceanographic Laboratory along with SAINTGITS Industrial Research Centre and SAINTGITS Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Sri K.Jose Cyriac IAS, Chairman -Kerala State Innovation Council inaugurated Srishti 2014 and Sri P.Joy Oomen IAS,CMD Kerala Financial Corporation delivered the Keynote Address on 25th February, 2014.

The project exhibition provided the ideal platform for industries and national organizations such as Aha 3D Innovations Pvt.Ltd, National Instruments India, Beginow Technopark, Thivananthapuram, Rays & Hues Animation and Film Academy, Blue Chip Technologies, CGL Geoinformatics, Kerala State Electricity Board, etc to sensitize the pulse of the students and empower the students in the field of innovation and technology.

Srishti 2014 also bridged the gap between academia, industry and the common man through an interactive exchange of technical knowledge and information. To accomplish this objective, the public and the school children throughout Kerala witnessed themselves with the project exhibits and the latest technological advancements in the industry. Technical talks and Interactive sessions were delivered to enlighten the budding engineers in the field of Innovation and Entrepreneurship by Dr Mary Mathew, Professor at the Department of Management Studies, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and Sri. Gokul K S Director, Strategic Alliances at Startup Village.

There was an overwhelming response from more than 48 eminent Engineering Colleges throughout Kerala State with 248 registrations for competition. 105 projects were selected for six segments of engineering viz. Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Computer Science & MCA and the focus segment of the year 'Agriculture'. The Total prize money was Rs.2,00,000/-.

A panel of judges chaired by Dr. K.P.P. Pillai, Former Principal, College of Engineering, TVM, Former Executive Secretary –ISTE visited the exhibition stalls and evaluated the projects in two phases to select The Best Innovation award worth Rs One Lakh and Best projects from six technical streams worth Rs 12000/- each and the best agricultural project worth Rs 15000/-. The visitors were given the privilege to elect the most popular award.
